Crazy English on clothes in Japan
It's quite a common thing to see crazy, confusing English written on T-shirts and a multitude of other products here. However, while shopping for clothes for Conan this past weekend, I came across this one-piece outfit in Conan's size that blows the competition away.
This shirt of course, was not meant to be evil in any way. For many Japanese, the fact that it has "English" on it is cool, and generally they don't understand the meaning nor care to. No doubt, the manufacturer uses the same silkscreen design for adult T-shirts as well, and just rotates them around for various clothes. :)
As for us, Conan celebrated his 10th month "birthday" today. I can't believe how fast it's been. He's crawling like it's going out of style, and pulling himself up at every opportunity. Lot's of babbling and hand waving too. It's quite adorable to be honest. :) He's also getting bigger and heavier. At a check-up last week he was measured at 73cm and 9,400g (9.4kg). For those of you still living in the 19th century for measuring, that would be 28.74 inches and 20.72 pounds. As well, we went shopping for a new fridge, and finally decided on a Hitachi model with 456L of space. Basically, that means we'll have enough room for some time to come. While making our decision I was adamant that the freezer be big enough to hold all our regular things plus the occasional frozen turkey that we can special-order through an importer. One interesting thing about new Japanese models is that the crisper for fruits and vegetables is now located in the middle of the unit, as a separate drawer with a separate door. On the bottom is the freezer, and the main part of the fridge is on top. Separate doors (or drawers), so you save energy when you need only one thing from one area of the fridge. Here's a link if you want to see the model:

One more thing of note. I was very pleased to get a call from my (younger, taller, more handsome) brother, Scott last week. He and his wonderful girlfriend, Madeleine have decided to get married. I couldn't be happier for them. Congratulations and lots of love to you, Bro.
