The Mino household's Christmas lights

We decided to put up some decorative lights this year, partly for Conan's sake to expose him to the culture of the season. Interestingly enough, there seem to be a number of houses in the area that have them up this winter. Stores as well seem to be carrying a larger selection of lights, although they are selling the agravating 'two wire' variety; the type where when one light burns out, the whole string doesn't work until you locate the problem bulb. I honestly can't understand why in the 21st century, countries importing Christmas lights don't demand the what is now standard (at least in N.A.) three wire type. Perhaps they don't know the difference? Maybe it's a company's way of exporting 'culture' in which countries new to Christmas lights can experience the fun (like my father so many years ago) of spending several hours checking and fixing burnt and loose bulbs. :)

Anyway, knowing what I know, we purchased some nice industrial-grade, triple-wire lights on-line. Here's our modest (if somewhat predicible) final presentation.
