Earth Hour 2008

After reading about the success of Earth Hour 2007 in Sydney, Australia last year to raise awareness about energy consumption, the Mino household decided to participate in this year's global initiative. Here's a good picture of what turning the lights off last year in Sydney looked like, with a cut of 10% power usage over the hour.


Here's us enjoying our Saturday night curry dinner by romantic candlelight. We turned our Earth Hour into a hour of "quiet" time too, which ended far too soon at 9:00pm. :)


Recently Conan and Leif have begun to play together at times and enjoying each other's company. Leif is still a little young to understand the meaning of playing together (ie. not taking toys from Conan) and Conan sometimes struggles with the concept that older brothers have to sometimes "give in" to such behavior to make play time work out more amicably. But they are learning and have become great friends.
